Back Seat Sketching

Here are some recent sketches done from the back seat of a car as we traveled from late afternoon on into the evening.   I only had time to make a quick 10 second sketch in pen, and came back later with watercolor and pastels to finish them off. 

Sketches from Last Night

Here are some study sketches I did last night for two commissions I am working on. The top one is of a cottage with a waterwheel secluded in a forest of trees. The bottom one is an outdoor restaurant with seating under a giant tree.

Las Vegas

Here are two sketches of the Las Vegas Strip done from the Trump International Hotel. The top sketch was done in my Aquabee 9" x 6" sketchbook. The bottom one was done in an 11" x 14" Canson watercolor sketchbook.

Los Angeles Bridge

I originally did this view of a bridge that crosses the Los Angeles River in pen and ink. While I liked it, I wanted a bit more drama so I added a stormy sky and some bright sun light striking the bridge support.
